1. PASTORAL DEPARTMENT

  1. Responsible for the overall stewardship of the congregation and offers pastoral care to the congregation.
  2. Lead and organize church services, crusades, and worship sessions.
  3. Encourage and support dynamic life-long Christian faith development and learning.
  4. Identify gifts among the church and nurture them to maturity for the benefit of the kingdom of God nationally and internationally.
  5. Nurture new believers and church members in the Christian walk.
  6. Encourages Christian attitudes and ideas, and reinforce these by personal example.
  7. Represents members of the congregation at the various gatherings.
  8. Support communications team especially with correspondences for the church phone lines and social media accounts.
  9. Connect to other like minded faith based churches and institutions both nationally and globally for the glory and kingdom of God.
  10. Prepare programs for the department.
  11. Marriage and general counseling and guidance.
  12. Identify and Network with any like-minded ministers of the word and invite them to minister.
  13. Identify the needs of areas and plant Churches.

2. MEN’S DEPARTMENT

Cultivate department programs and budgets that support and promote Christian values and teachings to those at W.V.C.SS and needs of members.

Stimulates communication amongst men.

3. WOMEN/LADIES DEPARTMENT

  • Cultivate department programs and budgets that support and promote Christian values and teachings to those at W.V.C.SS and the needs of members.
  • Stimulates communication amongst women/ladies.

4. YOUTH DEPARTMENT

  • Cultivate department programs and budgets that support and promote Christian values and teachings to those at W.V.C.SS and the needs of members.
  • Stimulates communication amongst youth.

5. SUNDAY SCHOOL MINISTRY

  • Cultivate department programs and budgets that support and promote Christian values and teachings to those at W.V.C.SS and needs of members.
  • Access the Christian educational needs of the children and ministry at large, set goals and plan programs/lessons/activities to achieve these goals.
  • Recruits and supports a network of teachers/leaders to implement the ministry programs, provide workshops and other opportunities for growth and renewal of teachers and leaders.
  • Develop and evaluate programs and curriculum resources recommended for use in all branches of W.V.C.SS.
  • Maintains a church library of Children’s Spiritual book and reference materials.

6. MUSIC DEPARTMENT

  • Constitutes of Praise and Worship team, Choirs and Instrumentalist.
  • Provides musical leadership to the congregation in the praise and worship sessions, church services, outreaches, missions and various church activities.
  • Ensure that praise & worship sessions and services meet the needs of the congregation and are in alignment with the Mission and Vision of W.V.C.SS
  • Provide a place for spiritual and musical growth for the members of the choir; consider capacity building and team building activities for the department
  • Prepares special music (anthems) which reflect the mission and vision of W.V.C.SS
  • Prepare departmental programs and budgets.

7. MEDIA/PRODUCTION;

  • Develop and help implement marketing and communications plans and budgets to support and promote congregational growth through both indoor & outdoor media campaigns.
  • Prepare; Information & Communication materials for the church (order of service, bulletins, announcements, banners, billboards, posters, sign post, digital screens, brochures, fliers, newsletters etc).
  • Take into account the multiple internal and external target audiences and their communication needs when developing and implementing the marketing and communications plan. Con’t media/production department.
  • Create and manage the W.V.C.SS church website and social media accounts, like; Facebook, twitter, Whatsapp, u-tube channel, Instagram etc.
  • Develop and help implement an effective strategy for email and other electronic communication. Manage the church cell-phone lines (three lines.
  • Organize media campaigns; radio, television, newspapers, social media etc
  • Recording & production of various church undertakings like crusades, missions, church services, sermons, choirs’ music.
  • Maintain a church library; Organize & Avail Gospel materials, like; Sermons, Music, Movies and literature for the congregation and general public.
  • Assist the W.V.C.SS departments and event organizers in promoting their programs and events.

8. DECORATION/SANTUARY KEEPERS

  • Ensure the sanctuary is kept clean, orderly and decorated in an appropriate manner for each season of the Christian calendar.
  • Prepare programs and budgets for the department

9. INTERCESSORS

  • Organize and lead church intersession church sessions.
  • Praying for the church, its members and various needs.
  • Prepare programs and budgets for the department

10. URSHERS

  • Assist in organizing, preparation and smooth running of all services.
  • Welcoming congregation for services; including seating.
  • Assist leaders and congregation during services especially those with special needs.
  • Church offerings collection.
  • Ensure items and facilities needed during services are in place.
  • Prepare programs and budgets for the department

11. EVANGELISM/OUTREACH/MISSION TEAM

  • Develop church outreach programs and budgets, with inclusion of outreach programs to schools, hospitals, market places etc.
  • Encourage and support the growing relationship of W.V.C.SS to the community, the nation and the world.
  • Encourage cooperation with other churches and agencies in joint projects.
  • Identify the needs of areas and lias with the pastoral team to plant Churches.

12. WELFARE/HOSPITALITY

  • Support the hospitality needs of the congregation and all church ceremonies.

  • Have programs and considerations for less fortunate; street children, Bereaving families, Widows & Orphans.

  • Organize refreshments and foods for events as requested by the council and departments.

  • Have oversight of the church kitchen, including restocking, and maintaining appliances in working order.

  • Welcome visitors and church guests.

  • Prepare programs and budgets for the department

13. RESOURCE MOBILIZATION & INCOME GENERATING ACTIVITIES.

  • Representatives of the welfare/hospitality committee should be part of this department.
  • Cultivate department programs and budgets that support and promote Christian values and teachings to those at W.V.C.SS and needs of members

14. CHURCH BUILDING COMMITTEE

  • Oversee the repair, maintenance, furnishing and use of buildings and property.
  • Coordinate the purchase of major items such as paving, repairs, furniture and equipment.
  • Prepare budgets for Council approval for building and grounds operations.
